Born into Fencing Royalty

Her grandfather, George Kiefer, was a 1984 Olympic bronze medalist, and both of her parents were accomplished fencers as well. Growing up in such a supportive environment, it was almost inevitable that Kiefer would excel in the sport.
Historic Olympic Double
In 2021, Kiefer made history by winning back-to-back gold medals in foil fencing at the Tokyo Olympics. This remarkable achievement was not only a personal triumph but also a testament to the strength of the American fencing program. Her teammate, Lauren Scruggs, also made history by taking the silver medal, becoming the first Black US fencer to win an Olympic medal.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Kiefer's success on the world stage has not only brought glory to the United States but has also inspired countless young athletes to pursue fencing. Her determination, resilience, and commitment to excellence have made her a role model for aspiring fencers everywhere.
