Carey Qualifies for Sunday's Floor Exercise Final
WEB Jade Ashtyn Carey, the dynamic force in American gymnastics, is again turning heads as she vaults towards new heights at Paris 2024. The 21-year-old Phoenix native is competing at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and has already qualified for the Sunday, August 1st floor exercise final.
Carey, who was born on May 27, 2000, is known for her incredible athleticism and technical skill. She burst onto the international scene in 2018 when she won the silver medal in the all-around at the FIG World Championships. She was also a member of the U.S. team that won the gold medal in the team competition that year.
In the lead-up to the 2020 Summer Olympics, Carey suffered a torn labrum in her shoulder. Despite the injury, she rehabbed diligently and was able to compete in the Games as an individual. She finished 8th in the all-around and 6th in the floor exercise.
Carey is now back in top form and is determined to make a run at a medal in Paris. She has already qualified for the floor exercise final and will also compete in the vault and uneven bars. With her incredible talent and determination, Carey is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in 2024.
